Horsemanship 101 is about 2 1/2 hour study of understanding the recreational Horse, learning the basics of safety, handling, grooming, feeding, hoof care, health, tacking up, riding, training and more. Discuss different breeds, colors, conformation, and temperament types. Get to know the horse on the ground while developing trust and respect through ground work exercises. Learn to move the Horse through pressure and release. Master how to mount and dismount safely, how to use rein pressure correctly and learn the one rein stop. Learn to give the Horse positive reinforcement and direct cues. Ride for the first time with “Feel” and learn how to communicate with your equine partner. We help you gain the trust you need on the trail in a very practical and safe way. You can do this program with your horse or choose to work with one of ours. You can also schedule a private session to learn more about a more specific interest! This class can be completely customized to fit your needs! Like building a solid foundation when training, getting respect from your horse at home, maybe learn a simple trick or work on a specific behavior issue.
We want to create an equine encounter that will equip both the Rider and Horse for a fabulous experience. Built on a foundation of intuitive listening, good communication, trust, feel and respect, it all begins with a language that you both can understand.
