Located north of Lexington and Georgetown, KY just off I-75 between exits 129 and 136.

If you’re looking for that special place to take your Family, Friends, Group or just need a day for yourself to experience true Horseback Riding (NOT in a ring, a circle, or a backyard view, but on acres of scenic beautiful trails appropriate for all experience levels) then you must experience riding at Whispering Woods Riding Stables!

We offer miles of trails on over 250 acres! Our trails are heavily wooded with hills, creeks, lots of beautiful hardwood trees, and wildlife. Deer, fox and turkey are often spotted on our trails. Our trails are suitable for beginners but challenging enough to be interesting for more experienced riders.

Children must be 8 years old or older and be able to ride on their own. (But check out our pony ride page for younger rider options!)

We want to make horseback riding available and accessible to everyone. Our weight restrictions are matter of safety in the case of the horses and their riders, but it’s also a matter of the soundness, health and longevity of the horses involved and we want to provide long-term loving care for our horses and do not overload them. Please call if you have any questions!

Make The Most Of Your Horseback Riding Adventure

Feel free to bring bottled water and/or cameras with you. We recommend that you wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Shorts are okay, IF you don’t mind possible chafing from the saddle or nature (such as: burrs, briers, thorns, etc.).

Please arrive 15-20 mins before the designated time your ride leaves, this will allow time to fill out forms, receive instructions and have a horse assigned to you.

Please note, that depending on the number of Riders, it may take awhile to get you up on your Horse(s) and headed down the trail. Please show up 15-20 minutes before your ride time. We will ask you to complete a Release Liability Waiver Form, collect your payment, give you a brief Riding demonstration (when requested), and assist you with mounting your Horse(s).

The Wranglers/Guides will assist by adjusting your stirrups, checking your saddles for proper positioning, etc. before the start of each Ride. We just want you to be prepared in advance for the time that it takes time for us to get you ready to ride, so you’ll be at our farm a little longer than you are scheduled to Ride. You can even bring apples, carrots, or pears if you’d like to feed the Horses a treat and show your appreciation to your new equine friend.
